Swine production profitability depends on nutritional management

Proper nutritional management is a critical factor for the growth and finishing stages of swine production, which represents the period of highest economic impact due to high feed consumption. Key zootechnical indicators such as daily feed intake, daily weight gain, feed conversion, and mortality rates are essential for measuring productivity and profitability.

Experts emphasize that diets must be balanced according to the age, weight, and genetics of the animals to promote muscle tissue deposition. Additionally, the quality of raw materials and the regulation of feeders are vital; poorly regulated feeders can lead to either excessive competition among animals or significant food waste, both of which negatively impact performance results.
