Swiss Ambassador Beatrice Schaer visits Primorsko-Goranska County

Swiss Ambassador Beatrice Schaer conducted an introductory visit to the Primorsko-Goranska County in Croatia, where she was received by County Prefect Ivica Lukanović and his deputies.

The discussions focused on strengthening existing cooperation, particularly with the Swiss Canton of Fribourg. The county delegation shared insights from a recent visit to Fribourg, highlighting successful models that integrate agriculture, education, scientific research, and the economy, with an emphasis on sustainable food production and waste reduction.

Furthermore, the Ambassador highlighted Swiss support for Croatian projects. A significant initiative in the Gorski Kotar region, funded by the Swiss Contribution, involves investments in water supply and drainage systems through 2029. While measures to reduce water loss and protect sources have already been implemented in Delnice, Fužine, and Brod na Moravici, activities are set to expand to Čabar, Delnice, Vrbovsko, Mrkopalj, Lokve, Skrad, and Ravna Gora.
