Swiss Army to conduct live ammunition exercises in Reppischtal

The Swiss Army will conduct shooting exercises using live ammunition in the Reppischtal region from Monday, September 28, to Thursday, October 8, 2026. The exercises will span a total of nine days and involve infantry weapons, including explosives.

Due to the use of live ammunition, entering the designated danger zones is strictly prohibited and considered life-threatening. The army has issued warnings that red-and-white markings signal active shooting operations. Specific shooting times vary by day, generally occurring between 07:30 and 19:00 or 22:00, with a daily break from 12:00 to 13:00.

Special safety measures are in place at the Fischerhölzli shooting range, while the Mätteli facility remains restricted to its internal grounds. The public is instructed to follow all directions provided by security personnel and barrier posts.
