Swiss breweries win multiple gold medals at World Beer Awards

Swiss breweries Sonnenbräu and Locher Brauerei achieved significant recognition at the World Beer Awards 2026, securing multiple gold medals as Country Winners for Switzerland.

Sonnenbräu received gold for its Lager Hell in the ‘International Lager’ category and for Edi in the ‘Light’ category. Both were named the best Swiss representatives in their respective fields. The brewery noted that the success of its light and non-alcoholic products aligns with growing market demand.

Locher Brauerei earned two gold medals as Country Winner Switzerland for Schwarzer Kristall (Dark Lager) and Locher Craft Misty Cave (no & low alcohol pale). The brewery also secured three silver awards for Quöllfrisch Hell, Quöllfrisch Naturtrüb, and Locher Craft Freefall, alongside three bronze awards for its Vintage Sour Beer, non-alcoholic India Pale Ale, and Locher Craft Hazy Climber.
