Swiss business: Sunrise job cuts and retail AI developments
In Switzerland, Sunrise is facing internal uncertainty following announcements of job cuts. Reports suggest hundreds of positions in IT, marketing, and controlling at the Opfikon headquarters could be affected, though the company stated that personnel impacts may occur across various locations as business processes are reviewed.
In the retail sector, Migros has partnered with the German coffee group Dallmayr to expand its Coffee B system. Three Dallmayr roasts will become available through the Coffee B online shop starting October 12, a move Migros describes as a step toward an ‘open coffee system’.
Swiss online retailers Galaxus and Brack are also preparing for the integration of AI-driven shopping assistants. Galaxus has implemented an interface for AI agents to search for products, while Brack is developing its technical foundation. Migros and Coop are monitoring these developments but have not yet launched specific AI interface projects.
