Swiss cyclist Mauro Schmid signs with Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team

Swiss rider Mauro Schmid, a 2026 Tour de France stage winner, has agreed to join the Pinarello Q36.5 5 Pro Cycling Team on a three‑year contract starting 1 January 2027, extending through 2029. The deal, reported to include a salary of around €2 million, reunites Schmid with team CEO Douglas Ryder, who first gave him his WorldTour opportunity in 2021.

The Pinarello‑backed squad, financed by Ivan Glasenberg, aims to combine Schmid’s versatility in time trials and classics with close collaboration on equipment development. The move is presented as a major reinforcement for the Swiss‑licensed ProTeam and highlights the rider’s ambition to continue progressing in the sport’s top races.
