Swiss farmer's field occupied by 50 caravans after balloon launch deception
A farmer in Rickenbach, located in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, discovered that a group of travelers had occupied his field under false pretenses. Max Mangold had entered into a contract to rent his land until the end of September for 10,000 Swiss francs, after the tenants claimed they intended to use the site for hot air balloon launches.
Instead of balloons, approximately 50 caravans originating from Switzerland, France, and Belgium arrived and set up camp on the field. Despite the deception regarding the intended use of the land, Mangold stated he does not intend to oppose the installation, noting that he does not depend on the rental income. Local police attended the scene on Sunday evening, and some neighbors have expressed concerns regarding the installations and potential environmental impacts.
