Swiss Federal Council proposes reducing Post basic services
The Swiss Federal Council is proposing to allow Swiss Post to reduce its basic service coverage if certain threshold requirements are no longer met. This move has drawn criticism from the Swiss Working Group for Mountainous Regions (SAB), which warns that such changes could lead to the disadvantage and neglect of mountainous areas.
In a separate regional development, the Bern Executive Council has proposed a cautious adjustment to the current medication dispensing system. While maintaining the existing framework, the plan would allow the health department to permit doctors to dispense medications in justified cases to address supply gaps or long-term therapy needs.
