Swiss Franc hits 12-month low against Euro amid inflation shifts

Foreign currency exchange rates showed fluctuations on September 6, 2026. In the Albanian market, the Euro was trading at 91.4 lekë for purchase and 92.3 lekë for sale. The US Dollar was priced at 78.4 lekë for purchase and 79.7 lekë for sale, while the Swiss Franc stood at 97 lekë for purchase and 98 lekë for sale.

Globally, the Swiss Franc reached its lowest level against the Euro in 12 months, dropping to 0.9434 francs per Euro. This depreciation is attributed to Eurozone inflation rising to 3.3 percent, the highest level since July 2023. High energy prices have fueled expectations that the European Central Bank may tighten monetary policy by raising interest rates. In contrast, the Swiss National Bank is expected to maintain a cautious stance due to lower domestic inflation, widening the interest rate differential and making the Euro more attractive to investors.
