Swiss health organizations host end-of-life decision-making sessions
Various health organizations in Switzerland are hosting information sessions focused on self-determination and decision-making regarding end-of-life care.
In Zürich, a lecture series will be held throughout September 2026 at the Hottingen Age Center. Organized by Institut Neumünster and the Endegut advisory center, with support from palliative zh+sh and Pro Senectute Kanton Zürich, the series aims to provide guidance for individuals and relatives facing end-of-life decisions. Topics include assisted suicide, voluntary refusal of food and fluids, palliative care, and the de-pathologization of dying. The sessions are designed for those without specialized knowledge to help them navigate conversations with medical professionals and express personal values.
Additionally, the Lungenliga Aargau is organizing an information event in Aarau on October 14, 2026. This session focuses on self-determination for individuals who may become incapacitated due to illness or accidents, emphasizing the importance of clarifying personal wishes in advance.
