Swiss hockey players Rochette and Loeffel pursue new career goals
Swiss hockey players are making significant moves within their respective leagues. Théo Rochette, 24, is preparing to pursue a spot with the Detroit Red Wings in the NHL. After three seasons with Lausanne HC, Rochette is willing to accept a lower salary in the AHL to gain experience and establish himself in North America, stating his intention is to remain in the region until he secures a permanent NHL position.
Meanwhile, veteran defender Romain Loeffel has joined Lausanne following a trade from Bern. The 35-year-old, who has played for several Swiss clubs including Fribourg, Geneva, Lugano, and Bern, expressed a strong desire to win a championship during the final stages of his career. His move to Lausanne was part of a deal involving the potential availability of goaltender Connor Hughes.
