Swiss International Air Lines to increase Geneva fleet capacity
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced a strategic fleet restructuring for its Geneva International Airport base, scheduled for the summer 2027 season. The airline plans to replace two Airbus A220-300 aircraft with two Airbus A320neo models to increase seat capacity on high-density routes.
The transition will increase capacity from 145 seats to 180 seats per flight, providing an additional 35 seats per frequency. This move aims to meet growing demand in the corporate and leisure markets without requiring additional flight slots. The new aircraft will primarily serve the Geneva to London Heathrow route, a key commercial connection for the company.
