Swiss pilots stall collective‑bargaining as Lufthansa integration sparks clash

Negotiations on a new collective labour agreement for Swiss pilots have stalled, with the Aeropers union saying talks, which began in April 2026 after pilots rejected the existing contract in November 2025, are progressing only slowly. The union accuses Swiss management of increasingly mirroring Lufthansa’s corporate culture and neglecting Swiss values, adding that pilots face heavy workloads, poor roster predictability and a persistent shortage of crew, risks that could force the airline to rely on wet‑lease operators or cancel flights.
