40‑year‑old Swiss assaulted in Aarau, police appeal for witnesses

On the night of 24 July 2026 a 40‑year‑old Swiss man was violently attacked while walking home from a club in Aarau, Switzerland. The assault took place near the Kettenbrücke between 23:45 and 00:15, when a group of young men allegedly playing music struck him with a fist, leaving him with head bruises, abrasions and a possible brief loss of consciousness.

The victim called for help at a nearby bus stop; a passer‑by placed an emergency call. Police arrived, found the victim at his residence, and launched an investigation. The identity of the assailants and their motive remain unknown. The cantonal police in Lenzburg are actively seeking eyewitnesses and have provided an e‑mail address for tips.
