Swiss police boost safety checks on school routes in Aargau and Solothurn
At the start of the new school year, police forces in the Swiss cantons of Aargau and Solothurn are increasing their presence on routes to schools and kindergartens. The Regional Police Aargau will conduct heightened traffic and speed monitoring around schools, offering visible patrols and preventive actions to remind drivers to adjust speed and stay alert for children.
In Solothurn, the cantonal police will patrol the entire canton on the first Monday of school, focusing on pedestrian crossings, bus stops and school zones. They are promoting the safety slogan “Luege | Brämse | Halte” (Look | Slow down | Stop) as part of a nationwide school‑route campaign coordinated by the Fonds für Verkehrssicherheit and the Touring Club Schweiz.
