Swiss police focus on training and recruitment

Swiss police departments are focusing on professional development and recruitment. In Zug, the lake police (Seepolizei) are utilizing the quieter autumn months on Lake Zug to conduct intensive training and further education. While the patrol boat ‘Eiola’ remains active and available for emergencies, the seasonal shift allows officers to refine procedures and prepare for critical situations.

In Basel-Stadt, the Cantonal Police have launched a new recruitment campaign titled ‘Es braucht dich’ (It needs you). Developed by the agency Dear Creative, the campaign aims to attract new police officers and security assistants by focusing on the human element of the profession rather than uniforms or vehicles. The initiative highlights core values such as responsibility, integrity, and respect, featuring real employees in their daily work environments to showcase the social contribution of the role.
