Swiss PostFinance Women’s League Publishes 2026/27 Season Schedule
The PostFinance Women’s League (PFWL) will open its 2026/27 season on Saturday, 12 September 2026 with a full‑round format. Eight teams will compete, including defending double champions EV Zug, runners‑up SC Bern, HC Ambri‑Piotta, HC Davos Ladies, HC Fribourg‑Gottéron Ladies, Neuchâtel Hockey Academy, ZSC Lions and newly promoted Lausanne HC Féminin, which replaces the withdrawn SC Langenthal. The opening day features a Zähringer derby between HC Fribourg‑Gottéron Ladies and SC Bern at 15:45, followed by matches involving HC Ambri‑Piotta vs. Lausanne HC Féminin and HC Davos Ladies vs. ZSC Lions, with Neuchâtel Hockey Academy vs. EV Zug concluding at 17:45.
The league retains a 28‑game regular season, but the Play‑In round now uses an aggregate‑score, two‑leg format for teams ranked third to sixth, scheduled for the weekend of 27–28 February 2027. Semifinals begin 4 March 2027 and the best‑of‑5 final commences 18 March 2027; the bronze medal is decided in a single match. The season will pause for the IIHF Women’s World Championship in Herning and Esbjerg, Denmark (6–16 November 2026), with the last qualification game on 25 October 2026 and league play resuming 21 November 2026. All games will be streamed live and free on RED+.
