Swiss restaurants Aachbrüggli and Frohsinn face closures

Several traditional restaurants in Switzerland are facing closures. In Erlen, the Aachbrüggli restaurant, which had closed in April due to the health of its hostess Annelies Bürgisser, is unlikely to reopen this summer. Owner Stefan Bürgisser stated that the establishment will likely remain closed until the end of the year, though the studios in the former hotel wing will continue to be rented out.

In Frauenfeld, the Frohsinn restaurant is set to close permanently on September 26 after 165 years of operation. Host Jérôme Kölliker, who managed the establishment for ten years, is also selling a self-built wooden chalet used for garden events. The chalet, measuring 11.4 by 6 meters, is being offered for 25,000 Swiss francs; if no buyer is found, it will be demolished.
