Swiss universities announce upcoming academic conferences and workshops

Several academic initiatives and events are scheduled for Swiss universities in 2026.

The Higher Education Space Development (HESD) project will host a conference on June 23 and 24, 2026, at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The event focuses on analyzing and reimagining teaching and learning spaces to meet increasingly diverse educational needs through innovation and systematic analysis.

Additionally, the University of Basel will host an interdisciplinary graduate workshop titled ‘The Freedom of Science - A Societal Challenge’ in November 2026. The workshop invites PhD students from across Switzerland to explore the intersection of science, policy, and society, examining how academic freedom impacts research and democratic discourse.
