Sicura brand revives with new Hexa 400 dive watch after 47‑year hiatus

The Swiss watch label Sicura, originally founded in 1939 and known for tool watches, has been relaunched by the Netherlands‑based D Group after a 47‑year dormancy. The comeback is marked by the introduction of the Hexa 400, a 40 mm hexagonal dive watch featuring a dual‑crown, dual‑bezel system that allows a secondary time‑zone display and elapsed‑time measurement without added mechanical complexity. The watch is built from 316L steel, measures 14 mm thick, offers a 400 m water‑resistance, and weighs 195 g.

Sicura’s history includes the 1979 acquisition of Breitling, after which the Sicura name was phased out and the company operated under the Breitling brand until 1993. The revival does not involve Breitling; instead, D Group, which also manages other small watch brands, has revived the Sicura name and is drawing on the brand’s 1960s‑70s heritage under former owner Ernest Schneider, a former army officer who positioned Sicura as a specialist in tool watches.
