Swisscom launches Kids Security app for digital child safety
Swisscom has launched ‘Kids Security’, a new application designed to assist families in managing digital media usage and ensuring online safety for children. Rather than focusing solely on monitoring, the app aims to foster transparency and trust between parents and children by allowing families to collectively establish rules for smartphone and internet use.
Key features of the app include screen time management, app overviews, content filtering, usage statistics, and geolocation functions. It also includes specialized modes, such as a ‘learning mode’ for homework and a ‘leisure mode’. To promote media literacy, the app provides tips on responsible digital engagement.
The service is currently available for iOS and Android, with a Windows version planned for a later release. Usage requires a Swisscom blue Mobile or Kids Mobile subscription, though the app can be used on additional devices from other providers. Pricing is set at CHF 4.90 per month, with a promotional rate of CHF 2.45 per month available until the end of 2026.
