Swisscom to deploy fiber optic network in Boussens by 2028
Swisscom has announced plans to deploy a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network in the municipality of Boussens. The project aims to provide residents with high-speed internet access by replacing existing copper networks with modern fiber optic infrastructure.
Contractual procedures and project preparations are scheduled to begin in 2027, with service activation expected to start in 2028. Multinet, acting on behalf of Swisscom, will contact property owners starting in 2027 to establish technical connection details. While most connections will be provided free of charge, owners must sign a formal agreement to authorize the installation. Once the infrastructure is in place, residents will be able to choose from various service providers, including Wingo, Salt, and Sunrise.
