Switzerland A2 motorway to face night-time closures

The A2 motorway between Sissach and Eptingen in Switzerland will undergo several night-time closures in September 2026. These closures are part of a larger maintenance project running from 2022 to 2027, which aims to renew operational and safety equipment, including signaling and video systems.

For traffic heading toward Basel, the A2 will be closed between Eptingen and Sissach during the nights of September 14 to September 16, 2026, from 21:00 to 05:00. For traffic heading toward Luzern, the closure will occur between the nights of September 16 and September 18, 2026, during the same hours. Additional partial closures in both directions are scheduled from September 21 to September 25, 2026. During the day, the motorway remains open. Diversions will be signaled via the cantonal road network and the A22 near Itingen.
