Switzerland announces final roster for 2026 Women’s World Championship
Swiss national women’s ice hockey head coach Shannon Miller has finalized the roster for the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Denmark. Following the Women’s Euro Hockey Tour in Sweden, the squad was reduced by three players: defenders Alizée Aymon and Elena Gaberell, and forward Jade Surdez.
The final 25-player roster consists of three goaltenders, eight defenders, and 14 forwards. The team will compete without captain Lara Stalder, who is sidelined due to a knee injury. To fill the void, 19-year-old Elisa Dalessi from HC Davos has been called up to join experienced players such as Alina Müller, Andrea Brändli, and Nicole Vallario.
Switzerland is scheduled to begin its tournament campaign against the USA on November 6. This championship will feature a new tournament format where group assignments are determined by world rankings and previous championship results to ensure more balanced competition.
