The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) has integrated a Quantinuum quantum computer into its high‑performance computing (HPC) cloud via the SCITAS platform. The collaboration enables researchers and students to run advanced quantum simulations remotely, supporting projects in quantum algorithms, multi‑body system modeling, and quantum‑information research.

Swiss officials are simultaneously urging the development of a coordinated quantum diplomacy framework. They warn that without inclusive governance, the rapid rise of reliable quantum computers could deepen a “quantum divide” between nations that possess infrastructure and those that do not.
