Switzerland beats Bosnia 4-1 to lead Group B at 2026 World Cup
Switzerland secured a 4-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, United States. Goals came from Johan Manzambi (two), Ruben Vargas and a late penalty by Granit Xhaka, while Bosnia’s sole tally was a stoppage‑time strike by Ermin Mahmic. Bosnia were reduced to ten men after Tarik Muharemović received a red card in the second half.
The win lifted Switzerland to the top of Group B with four points from two games, ahead of Qatar, Bosnia and Canada. The Swiss will need at least a draw against Canada in their final group fixture to guarantee progression to the knockout stage. Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, despite a solid performance, could not keep a clean sheet.
Switzerland’s dominant display improves their chances of advancing, while Bosnia remain in a precarious position with only one point.
