Switzerland economic growth forecasts revised upward by economists

Economists have significantly raised their growth forecasts for the Swiss economy. According to the latest KOF Consensus Forecast survey conducted in September 2026, experts now project real GDP growth of 1.7 percent for the current year, a notable increase from the 0.9 percent predicted in June.

Growth expectations for 2027 have also been revised upward to 1.7 percent, compared to the previous forecast of 1.5 percent. This upward trend is largely driven by increased investment activity. Real fixed capital formation is expected to rise by 1.5 percent in 2026 and 2.2 percent in 2027, while construction investments are projected to grow by 2.4 percent in 2026 and 1.9 percent in 2027.

In contrast to growth projections, inflation expectations have been lowered. Experts now predict a consumer price index increase of 0.6 percent for the current year and 0.8 percent for next year. The outlook for the labor market remains stable, with unemployment rates expected to stay at 3.1 percent for 2026 and 3.0 percent for 2027.
