Switzerland faces evolving security concerns despite high public confidence
A recent survey conducted by MIS Trend for the Forum des 100 reveals a dichotomy in Swiss security perceptions. While 96% of the population and 95% of leaders report feeling “enough” or “completely” safe, official intelligence suggests a different reality.
Serge Bavaud, director of the Federal Intelligence Service, has noted that the security situation in Switzerland has “clearly deteriorated.” Despite the country's central European location and historical stability, officials such as Jacques Pitteloud, Switzerland's ambassador to NATO, have warned that the global environment has become “extremely dangerous.”
The upcoming Forum des 100 in Lausanne will address these vulnerabilities, featuring contributions from Swiss Army Chief Benedikt Roos and writer Giuliano da Empoli.
