Switzerland leads DACH region in cryptocurrency use, study finds
A Bearingpoint survey of more than 4,000 adults in Germany, Austria and Switzerland shows that 23% of Swiss respondents use cryptocurrency at least occasionally, more than double Germany’s 11% and ahead of Austria’s 18%. The study also found that 37% of Swiss participants consider crypto a worthwhile investment, compared with 28% in Austria and 23% in Germany.
Swiss respondents are also more open to a central‑bank digital currency, with 44% saying they would consider using a digital franc, versus 38% in Austria and 29% in Germany. The findings are attributed to Switzerland’s long‑standing regulatory framework, such as the 2021 DLT Act and the concentration of crypto firms in Crypto Valley, which have helped embed digital assets into mainstream financial discussions.
