Switzerland Leads Global Wealth Rankings as Top Haven for High-Net-Worth Assets
Switzerland is ranked first worldwide in personal wealth, with an average net worth of $910,382 per adult, according to UBS’s Global Wealth Report 2026. The report shows global personal wealth grew 10.8% last year and that 1.5% of the world’s population now holds assets above $1 million—about one million new millionaires by 2025.
North America remains the richest region, driven by the United States, which accounts for 35.7% of total personal wealth and is projected to add more than 440,000 new millionaires by 2025. Eastern Europe posted the fastest growth in millionaires, led by Lithuania, followed by Turkey, Latvia and Hungary. The report also lists the twenty leading jurisdictions for wealth preservation, citing Switzerland’s long‑standing banking privacy, stability and robust legal framework alongside other hubs such as Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and the United States.
These findings underscore Switzerland’s status as a premier tax‑haven and privacy destination for high‑net‑worth individuals worldwide.
