Switzerland recreated at 1:1 scale in Minecraft
The Manifold project has reconstructed the entirety of Switzerland within Minecraft at a 1:1 scale. Using official geodata from swisstopo, the digital recreation covers 41,285 km², where one block represents exactly one meter.
The project utilizes the Cubic Chunks mod to overcome standard Minecraft vertical limits, allowing for accurate topographical representations such as the Matterhorn and the Dufourspitze, which reaches an altitude of 4,634 blocks. The terrain includes glaciers, lakes, forests, and dams, maintaining the real-world proportions of the Alpine landscape.
A free version covering approximately 2,400 km² of the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage site is available for testing. The full map of Switzerland is offered via early access for a fee of 15 CHF, restricted to Swiss residents.
