Switzerland leads global per‑adult wealth rankings, UBS 2026 report

The UBS Global Wealth Report 2026 shows that the United States owns 38.1 % of private wealth among the 56 countries included, representing more than 92 % of global wealth. Western Europe accounts for 21.9 % and Eastern Europe for only 3.3 %.

Switzerland tops the average‑wealth list with €777,506 per adult. The United States is second with €594,651 (≈ $696,277). Luxembourg has the highest average wealth among EU members at €559,170, followed by Denmark (€446,959), Norway (€363,303) and the Netherlands (€354,673). Belgium and Sweden also exceed €300,000 per adult.

When the median wealth per adult is examined, rankings shift. Luxembourg leads the median list at €336,498, Belgium is second, and Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong also appear in the top ten. Germany’s median wealth falls to about $53,500 (≈ €46,700), placing it near the bottom of the 30‑country median ranking, highlighting the gap between average and median figures and the underlying wealth inequality across Europe and the world.
