Germany U21 defeat Malta 4-1 behind Tresoldi hat-trick

Germany’s U21 national team secured a 4-1 victory against Malta in a UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier at the Centenary Stadium. Despite an early setback when Malta’s Basil Tuma scored in the ninth minute, Germany responded quickly through captain Nicolo Tresoldi in the 11th minute.

Tresoldi went on to complete a hat-trick with goals in the 47th and 69th minutes, marking his 16th career goal for the U21 side and moving him third on the team’s all-time scoring list. Tom Rothe added a fourth goal for Germany with a header in the 32nd minute.

The win keeps Germany at the top of Group F, three points ahead of Greece. The team is now one victory away from direct qualification for the 2027 tournament, which will be hosted in Albania and Serbia.
