Swołowo and Bytów to host Pomeranian goose culinary festivals
The Pomeranian region will host several culinary events centered on traditional goose specialties in November. In Swołowo, the Museum of Folk Culture of Pomerania is organizing the “Best Pomeranian Goose for St. Martin” festival on November 7, 8, and 11. The event features approximately 80 exhibitors, including local farmers, restaurateurs, and rural women's circles, offering dishes such as roasted goose, goose dumplings, and traditional soups like czernina.
In addition to food tastings and live cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, the Swołowo event includes a regional product market, a craft fair with over 60 creators, and demonstrations of traditional crafts like blacksmithing and wool spinning.
Simultaneously, the town of Bytów will host two culinary competitions on November 11 as part of Independence Day celebrations. Organized by the “Bazuny” Association of Lovers and Animators of Culture, the contests include “Goose in a Modern Version” for main courses and a “Battle of St. Martin's Crescents” for desserts. Participants compete for cash prizes and diplomas, with judging based on taste, aesthetics, and ingredient quality.
