SWR launches first songwriting camp for Eurovision 2027
The German public broadcaster SWR has launched its first songwriting camp to prepare for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Held at Flo Studios in Berlin, the camp features 53 German and international songwriters and composers working to develop entries for the German national selection.
Selection rules for 'Das Deutsche Finale 2027' require participants to be at least 18 years old and maintain a strong connection to Germany, such as citizenship, residency, or language fluency. For logistical purposes, participants must reside in Germany or a neighboring country. Songs may be in any language but cannot be created using AI, and must not exceed three minutes in length.
The application window remains open until September 21, 2026. Following the deadline, a music team will review submissions, after which an international jury of experts will provide feedback to help select the acts for the final.
