Syddjurs Municipality sewerage plans spark debate among summer house owners

Summer house owners in the Lyngsbæk, Handrup, and Egsmark Strand areas of Syddjurs Municipality are expressing frustration over planned sewerage projects. The initiative, intended to provide sewage solutions for properties unable to accommodate private systems, is estimated to cost approximately 1,200 owners between 50,000 and 100,000 DKK each.

One owner, Arne Bojesen, has proposed that the municipality combine the sewerage work with the installation of district heating pipes. He suggests this would provide an environmental boost by allowing owners to replace polluting wood-burning stoves. Kim Lykke Jensen, chairman of the Nature, Technology, and Environment Committee, described the idea as enticing but noted that several factors, such as the feasibility for local heating plants and the seasonal nature of summer house heating, require further investigation.
