Sydney boy dies after being shot in Norwest apartment

An 11-year-old boy has died in a Sydney hospital three days after being shot in the face and neck. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at an apartment in the Norwest area of the Hills District.

Police arrived at the scene to find the victim, four 18-year-old men, and a 44-year-old woman. Three men were arrested during the initial investigation; one has been charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and remains in custody, while two others were released pending further inquiries.

Superintendent Naomi Moore stated that investigators are considering potential links to organized crime, noting that several individuals present at the unit are known to NSW Police. While the boy's family has described the shooting as a “tragic accident,” police are continuing to investigate the nature of the gathering and are searching for the weapon used in the incident.
