Sydney Contemporary art fair celebrates tenth anniversary

The tenth edition of the Sydney Contemporary art fair is being held at Carriageworks, featuring more than 100 gallerists and over 500 artists from across Australia. While the art market has seen a decline in turnover over the last four years, visitor numbers have reached record highs.

According to the Art Basel and UBS Art Market Report 2026, art sales are in a recovery phase but have not yet returned to the peaks seen in 2022. In response to feedback from collectors and galleries, the fair has introduced a two-hour VIP preview block to allow for more considered discussions regarding significant works before the general public enters.
