Sydney Olympic Park metro station development plan finalized

The New South Wales government has finalized the development plan for a $780 million metro station at Sydney Olympic Park. The project is part of the Sydney Metro West line, which is expected to be operational by 2032.

Designed to manage high-density crowds during major sporting events and concerts, the station will be the only one on the Metro West line to feature four platforms. The station is engineered to evacuate approximately 25,000 passengers per hour, which, combined with existing rail services, will allow the precinct to accommodate a total of 65,000 passengers per hour.

The development includes an integrated precinct featuring retail spaces, offices, a public plaza, and residential towers. Two apartment buildings, reaching heights of 42 and 32 stories, will provide approximately 500 new homes. Construction contracts have been awarded to FCC Construction Australia and Ecove Group, with work scheduled to begin in mid-2027.
