Sydney Roosters fans highlighted for long-term club devotion

Dedicated Sydney Roosters supporters are being highlighted for their long-standing commitment to the NRL club. Thomas Hayes, a lifelong fan, recently won a patch of turf from the Sydney Cricket Ground, a venue the club called home for many years. The turf was provided by horticulturalists during routine renovations of the ground.

In another display of fandom, Wayne Leong has become a recognizable figure at Roosters games due to a banner featuring the character Quagmire from Family Guy. Leong explained that the banner’s catchphrase, ‘giggity giggity’, is used as an expression of optimism regarding the team’s chances of success. Leong has been a ticketed member of the club for over three decades.
