Sydney Swans beat Port Adelaide 97 points, close on AFL second

Sydney Swans defeated Port Adelaide Power 26.11 (167) to 10.10 (70) at the Sydney Cricket Ground, a 97‑point margin that moved the Swans six points clear of third‑placed Hawthorn and solidified their hold on second place with two games remaining. Charlie Curnow kicked five goals, taking his season tally to 62 and bringing him nearer to the Coleman Medal. Errol Gulden recorded 39 disposals, Isaac Heeney 24 and Chad Warner 25, all contributing to the dominant performance.

Port Adelaide’s Jason Horne‑Francis suffered a hyper‑extended knee in the final quarter and left the field, but coach Josh Carr said the injury was not serious. The loss marked Port’s fifth consecutive defeat, while the Swans now need just one win in their final two matches to secure the runner‑up spot and keep a chance at the minor premiership.
