AFL derbies: Dockers crush Eagles, Swans rout Giants

The Fremantle Dockers delivered a commanding performance in the 63rd Western Derby, beating the West Coast Eagles 16.16 (112) to 6.6 (42). Dockers dominated the midfield, collected almost twice the forward entries, and surged ahead in the second half with eleven goals to the Eagles' one.

In Sydney, the Swans overwhelmed the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the 33rd Sydney Derby, winning by 51 points, 21.13 (139) to 13.10 (88). Errol Gulden recorded a record‑breaking 41 disposals and was named best on ground, while Charlie Curnow kicked four goals. Giants midfielder Finn Callaghan left the field with a leg injury late in the game. Both coaches praised the intensity of the derbies and highlighted the importance of the fixtures for ladder positions.

The two results keep Fremantle near the top of the AFL ladder and solidify the Swans' hold on second place as the season heads toward the finals.
