Sydney teenager shot in chest in Greenacre, linked to Granville car fire
Police responded to reports of a public shooting on Thursday night around 9 p.m. on Mimosa Road in Greenacre, Sydney. An 18‑year‑old male was found in the passenger seat of an abandoned black station wagon with two gunshot wounds to his chest. He was treated on‑scene by paramedics and air‑ambulance crew before being taken to hospital in stable condition.
Investigators seized a Skoda SUV believed to have been used to transport the victim and are questioning its driver. Early Friday morning a burnt‑out Toyota Hilux was discovered on Celia Street in Granville, about 11 km north of Greenacre, and police say the vehicle fire is strongly linked to the shooting. The Hilux has been seized for forensic examination, and the assailants remain at large.
