Sydney to Host 2026 World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup Finals

Australia will host the inaugural World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup Finals from 22‑26 July 2026 at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. The tournament will feature the top eight men’s and women’s national teams, with both Australian sides – the Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers – competing on home soil.

Water Polo Australia has announced its 15‑player Stingers squad, led by captain Bronte Halligan, and highlighted the event as a milestone on the road to the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games. In parallel, specialist broker BMS Group has become a National Supporter, sponsoring a Junior Mascot activation that will place young players in front of the crowd alongside the elite teams.

The finals aim to boost grassroots participation, showcase the sport to a domestic audience, and provide a platform for Australian athletes ahead of future Olympic competitions.
