TikTok influencer Sydney Towle dies at 26 after rare bile‑duct cancer battle

American TikTok creator Sydney Towle, who had built a following of more than one million by openly documenting her health journey, died on 5 August 2026 at age 26. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma – a rare bile‑duct cancer – in 2023 when she was 23, and spent the next three years undergoing multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, experimental trials and finally hospice care.

Towle’s family announced her death on Instagram, describing her as an “endless ray of sunshine” and expressing pride in how hard she fought. Her brother Austin posted a farewell video, calling her “the best sister ever.” Throughout her illness she continued to share videos of treatments, daily life, and even walked the runway at Miami Swim Week, using her platform to raise awareness of rare cancers and to encourage early detection.

Her public struggle resonated worldwide, prompting tributes from fans and coverage in major outlets. The story highlights the growing role of social media in health advocacy and the personal impact of a young influencer’s loss.
