Sydney woman charged after bus stop crash and multiple assaults
A 29-year-old woman has been denied bail following a series of alleged criminal and traffic offenses in Sydney’s Lower North Shore. The incident began on August 8, 2026, when a white Audi Q5 reportedly crashed into a bus stop on Longueville Road in Lane Cove, causing an 18-year-old man to sustain minor injuries.
Following the crash, the driver allegedly fled the scene and attempted to enter a parked Mercedes. Police report that when the vehicle's owner intervened, the woman allegedly assaulted him and damaged the car before fleeing again. Upon her subsequent arrest, authorities allege she resisted arrest, attempted to assault police officers, and refused a roadside breath test.
The woman, who was already serving a five-year driving disqualification, faces 11 charges, including driving while disqualified, negligent driving, common assault, destroying property, and assaulting police.
