Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi addresses internal JKNC conflict

Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, a Member of Parliament for the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), has addressed internal friction within his party. Mehdi stated that despite having a public mandate to advocate for the people's issues, he faces daily demands to resign.

He accused the party leadership of weakening their collective struggle and creating an atmosphere against him without formal notice, which has caused confusion among party workers. Mehdi emphasized that his efforts include lobbying and advocating for the restoration of constitutional guarantees and the status of Kashmir according to the will of its people, rather than just the restoration of statehood.

Furthermore, Mehdi criticized the lack of accountability within the party, noting that senior leaders often use others to voice criticisms rather than addressing him directly. He also mentioned recent tensions regarding reservation issues and protests.
