Syed Saddiq and Bella Astillah announce public wedding receptions

Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and singer-actress Bella Astillah have announced plans for their upcoming wedding celebrations. The couple intends to host two 'Kenduri Rakyat' themed receptions to allow the public to celebrate with them. The first event is scheduled for October 25, 2026, in Muar, Johor, followed by a second event in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on October 31, 2026.

Syed Saddiq emphasized the importance of financial prudence, advising young couples not to exhaust their savings for a single day of luxury to avoid long-term debt. He noted that financial issues are a primary cause of marital instability. Regarding the scale of the celebrations, he expressed disagreement with labeling their union the ‘wedding of the year,’ stating that every couple deserves to feel their wedding day is equally special.

The receptions will follow a traditional 'rewang' concept, fostering a sense of community. Syed Saddiq noted that planning for these events was completed in less than two months due to time and location constraints. He anticipates significant public interest, referencing previous local celebrations in Muar that drew up to 10,000 attendees.
