Syed Saddiq and Bella Astillah deliver wedding invitations to political figures

Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and his fiancée, Bella Astillah, have begun personally delivering wedding invitations for their upcoming marriage on October 10, 2026. The couple has reached out to several prominent political figures to share the news and seek marital guidance.

Among the notable recipients are former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, whom Syed Saddiq described as the most senior guests on his list. Additionally, the couple spent nearly two hours with Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, seeking her perspective on sacrifice, loyalty, and the challenges of family life. Syed Saddiq referred to her as ‘Malaysia’s Compassionate Iron Lady’ due to her experiences in both politics and family.

The invitations also extend beyond Malaysia, with Singaporean Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung receiving an invitation, noting it as a reason to visit Malaysia.
