Syed Saddiq discusses marriage maintenance at pre-wedding course

Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has drawn social media attention for his active participation in a pre-marriage course alongside his fiancée, Bella Astillah. During the session, Syed Saddiq raised specific questions regarding the methods of providing marriage maintenance (nafkah) to a wife, inquiring whether monthly payments or paying for expenses as they occur is more appropriate.

He also sought clarification on how to define maintenance based on individual financial capabilities, particularly for men with lower incomes. The course instructor advised that physical maintenance should be provided according to the head of the household's ability and cautioned women against looking down on husbands due to income disparities.

The couple, referred to as BASS, is reportedly approaching their wedding date, which has been speculated to be October 10.
